The Item Search window allows you to select inventory records based on any combination of elements found in the Item tables and sort and/or filter the resulting data. You can then select inventory items for further processing or print inventory data to a network printer. Navigation buttons on the bottom of the Item Search window enable you to quickly access additional functions of the Inventory module.

The Item Notebook window provides detailed information about inventory items. The Item Notebook window contains tabs that can be used to input or view data. Tabs are provided for item identification/specifications, custom elements, related documents, supplier details and ranking, replenishment parameters, quantities (on-hand, on-order, etc.), bin locations and dates, and usage history. In addition, tabs are provided for a cross-reference to work order plans, material requests, and purchase orders that include the inventory item.

The Inventory Issues window provides a mechanism to record item issues and charge their cost to accounts, areas, departments, projects, or work orders. Search capabilities help identify items for issue.

The Inventory Returns window allows you to record items returned to inventory and to credit their cost to accounts, areas, departments, projects, or work orders. Whenever items are returned, TabWare checks the work orders in awaiting material status to fill material needs and enable scheduling of work delayed by lack of material.

The Cycle Count Entry window enables you to enter physical item counts to adjust inventory system balances. As balances are adjusted upward, TabWare checks work orders in awaiting material status for additional material allocations. When item balances are adjusted downward, TabWare tests the replenishment calculations to determine whether reordering is necessary to bring balances within desired limits.

The Stores Activity Search window provides access to features that allow you to select item activity records based on a variety of criteria. You can also select activity based on several types of transactions, such as receipts, issues, returns, adjustments, restock of repaired items, and other types of transactions.

The Restock Repaired Items window allows you to return items to inventory after repairs have been completed and to increase the item quantity on hand. Whenever items are returned, TabWare checks the work orders in awaiting material status to fill material needs and enable scheduling of work delayed by lack of material. This feature allows you to return items at a variety of cost options, including full purchase price, a percentage of purchase price, current average unit cost, or standard unit cost.

This function provides the basic control features of the Inventory module and includes settings to determine whether quantity balances can become negative or not, to set up cycle counting selection parameters, and other Inventory module parameters.
