The User Setup window lets you change your password, select the language used at your site, select your personal preferences for displaying screen colors, and select message preferences.

Using the Custom Elements Definition window, you can define a custom element by category, such as work orders, and choose settings for Required Entry and Validated fields. Select this option when you need to create a data element that is not defined by standard TabWare terminology.

When you define a custom element as validated, you use the Custom Elements Valid Values window to enter a list of values from which users can choose.

You can use the Validation Codes Valid Values window to create a list of valid values for the elements defined as validated through the Data Dictionary.

In setting up valid values for standard validation codes you establish Action, Component and Condition codes. As an add-on, you can use the Completion Codes window to assign a set of values to a particular equipment class.

Before using the system, you can develop a framework for reporting purposes. You can specify when your fiscal year starts. Typically, plants define their reporting period as a month, but you can choose a week or any other duration that suits your operating environment.

When you select this option, a menu displays offering a number of selections broken out into three main groupings: language translation, dictionary settings, and module availability. Language Translation allows you to change the appearance of the system, such as using a language other than American English. Dictionary Settings provides flexibility in choosing how certain fields are used. Module Availability activates the modules you need for operation and allows you to select preferences for system behavior.
