The information entered in the Cost Periods window is the framework for accumulating and reporting costs. By entering start and end dates for each year and the periods within a year, you define how you want to report costs. The framework also provides for rolling period costs into months and monthly costs into quarters.
To Define Cost Periods:

Click the Setup button on the TabWare Power Panel to open the Setup Power Panel window. |

Click Cost Periods. |

From the Cost Periods window, click Add Cost Periods for New Year. The New Cost Periods window opens. |

Enter the new year or use the mini-scroll bar to select it. |

Enter the number of reporting periods for the new year or use the mini-scroll bar. |

Click OK from the New Cost Periods window. The Cost Periods window re-displays. |

Optionally, change Start Date and End Date. |

Optionally, change the individual cost period values for Start Date, End Date, Cost Month, and Cost Quarter. |
Note: As you enter an end date for each period, the system automatically displays the start date for the succeeding cost period.

Enter a value for Equip Production Demand Hours. |
10. |
Enter a value for Direct Hours for Maintenance. |
11. |
Click OK after you have completed all the entries for the year. |
After costs have been posted to a cost period, TabWare does not allow you to change the dates, cost month, or cost quarter.
