Language Translation, Dictionary Setting, and Modules are the three sets of windows you use to customize TabWare windows to more closely align with your company's operating environment. Through these windows, you can define a language, assign settings to data elements, and choose setup options. You can also gather security information using the Query Wizard from the Customizing Tabware window.
You can customize TabWare to use different languages by using the Customizing TabWare window. The languages that you can use are not limited to languages such as Spanish, French, or German. You can make facility-specific language translations so that terms such as equipment, work order, and item are terms with which users are familiar. The translations do not require any programming changes and have a minimal effect on performance.
If you choose a language other than English, you must provide the translations on windows within TabWare. You can create a new translation by defining the language and entering translations for the different types of text in the dictionary. You should develop language definitions using a hierarchy of translations so that TabWare uses the correct translations for each window.
