Creating Queries

Each major module has at least one search window. You can add queries of your own design to any of these designated search windows. Keep in mind that the custom queries you develop are only available to you and not to any other user. There is an exception to this if you have been given define public query privileges.

The following lists the basic steps required to create a query. Additional topics contain detailed information about each step.

From the TabWare Power Panel, click on the module containing information you want to retrieve. A search window displays.

2.

Click the Wizard button. The Query Wizard opens, asking the question What do you want to do? (See Setting Up the Query)

3.

Click on the New button, enter a name and description, and select a type. (See Setting Up the Query)

4.

When you click the Next button, a window displays asking the question What information do you want to see in this query? (See Choosing Information You Want to See)

5.

Click on the elements you want displayed, then click the Next button.

The next window displayed asks the question How do you want to group the information? Drag and drop elements from left to right and then assign to numbered groups. Click the Next button. (See Deciding How You Want to Group the Columns)
