If multiple warehousing is enabled, use this window to establish the numbering method for transfer requests and the rules governing the transfer of items among stores locations.
Transfer Request Numbering Method
The length of a transfer request number cannot exceed 10 characters including a prefix (if you choose to use one). You can choose from three basic numbering methods:
Use Prefix and Sequence Number
Use Date and Sequence Number
Use Sequential Number
Enter a prefix from one to five characters if you selected the option User Prefix and Sequential Number.
This field is not required if you selected the Use Date and Sequential Number option. If you are using a prefix, enter the length of the numeric portion of the transfer request number. Remember that the length of the prefix plus the length of the numeric portion cannot exceed 10 characters. If you do not specify a prefix, the number of digits can be any amount up to 10 characters.
Enter a zero in this field if you want the first transfer request number to be a 1 preceded by leading zeros. Otherwise, enter a value for use in numbering the next transfer request number assigned.
You can determine which stores locations can or cannot transfer items to other stores locations and you can reduce issuing and receiving steps to a single step between designated stores locations.
To prevent the creation of transfer requests between stores locations, enter the appropriate locations in From Location and To Location and select the Do Not Allow Transfer checkbox. If this checkbox is not selected, TabWare permits transfers between all stores locations.
Selecting this checkbox causes TabWare to automatically receive items transferred from the From Location into the To Location. This eliminates the need to access the Transfer Receipts window for the receiving stores location.
