TabWare supports printing labels either from the Purchase Order Receipts window or from the Item Search window. The Label Definition window is a text editor which allows you to define the text and format of the labels that are printed.
You can lay out the format for labels including font type and size, spacing and merge fields. To include a merge field in the body of the label, position your cursor at the desired entry point on right side of the screen and select the merge text from the left hand column. Either click and drag or double-click on it to insert it.
You can create a bar code by selecting the bar code font from the font drop down list.
Note: Remember that most bar code fonts require a starting and ending delimiter - usually an asterisk.
The size of the print labels is a function of the printer setup for the label printer, but you can click the Preview button to preview the layout of your label. You can insert a bitmap file by clicking the Insert Picture button.
You can now click File-Save As to save the label format to a flat file. You may want to do this if you are trying out various formats and need to save prior layouts. To restore a previous format, right-mouse click in the layout area. A context menu is displayed. Click Insert File.
