Creating Valid Values for Custom Elements

If you have defined a custom element as validated, you must use the Custom Elements Valid Values window to enter a list of Valid Values. The values added to the list appear in a drop-down listbox when a user enters or updates a value for a custom element.

To Define Valid Values for a Custom Element:

1.

Click the Setup button on the TabWare Power Panel to open the Setup Power Panel window.

2.

Click the Custom Element Definition button on the Setup Power Panel to open the Custom Element Definition window.

3.

Choose a category from the Category block.

Note: Any available subcategories for the category chosen display in a separate block. Existing elements for the category chosen display at the bottom of the screen. If there are subcategories displayed in the Subcategory block, click on one to select it.

To Create a Value:

1.

Click the New button.

2.

Enter a valid value in the Valid Value field.

3.

Enter a description in the Description field.

4.

Press the TAB key to enter another value for the same element.

5.

Click OK after entering values for a particular element.

To Delete a Value:

1.

Click on the value to be deleted.

2.

Click the Delete button.

3.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 to delete another value for the same element.
