Work order status codes provide a framework for controlling and managing the work order backlog. By changing status codes during the life cycle of a work order, you can control the workflow and manage resources to the maximum benefit of your facility. Status codes are part of the system that impact many operations. Therefore, great caution must be taken when attempting to change, add, or modify the list of work order status codes. AssetPoint has carefully planned how work order status codes operate with the system, and you should carefully plan any modifications you make to these codes.
If you need to change or reconfigure these codes, consult your TabWare support person for guidance on the best approach for meeting your needs.
The table below shows the permanent work order status codes that come with the system.

TabWare is an extremely flexible tool you can configure in many different ways. You can define your own site-specific work order status codes. AssetPoint suggests, however, that you have a thorough understanding of the system and your processing requirements before making changes to the list.
Settings in the Security module control your ability to change the status of a work order. If you have the appropriate privileges, the status of a work order can be changed from the following windows:
From the Work Order tab of the Work Order Notebook, click the dropdown arrow in the Status field to choose a new status from the list.
From the Work Order Approval and Status Change window, select a new status from the list displayed on the left.
